Writing can reflect the writers’ thinking abilities,language levels and comprehensive abilities.Therefore,writing teaching is very important.The Compulsory Education English Curriculum Standard(2011 Edition)emphasizes that junior high school English writing teaching should fully reflect the three-dimensional goals of knowledge and skills,procedures and methods,emotional attitudes and values.Teachers should not only take notice of improving students’ writing abilities,but also focus on training students’ abilities to solve the problems,making students understand the writing in the context.There are still some problems exist in current English writing teaching in junior high school.Because of the problems existing in classroom teaching,Professor Zhang Xuexin of Fudan University(2014)proposed a kind of self-created teaching mode–––PAD(presentation,assimilation,discussion).PAD advocates independent learning and discovery of new knowledge by students.It is mainly divided into two kinds:the separation of one class and the separation of two classes,which includes presentation,assimilation and discussion.This study is guided by constructivist learning theory,cognitive learning theory,and cooperative learning theory and applies the PAD teaching mode to junior high school English writing teaching,by comparing the results of experimental class and that in comparative class to explore the feasibility and effectiveness of PAD teaching mode,to strengthen students’motivation in English writing,to improve students’English writing ability.The subjects of this study are two classes in grade eight in Chongqing.Class one is the experimental class and Class two is the control class.The two classes are taught by the same English teacher and a four-month teaching experiment was conducted.The experimental class adopts PAD mode for English writing teaching,while the control class adopts traditional English writing teaching mode(teaching—writing—correcting).This mainly uses questionnaire survey method,interview method and test method.And SPSS22.0 system is used to analyze the experimental data.The research questions of this study are as follow:1.What is the influence of PAD teaching mode on junior high school students’interest in English writing?2.What is the influence of PAD teaching mode on junior high school students’ English writing ability?3.How to apply PAD teaching mode to junior high school English writing teaching?First of all,this study analyzes the current situation of writing teaching in junior high school and summarizes the current research status of teaching mode and writing teaching,and uses the questionnaire survey to analyze the current English writing and the psychological situation of English writing.Secondly,take writing tests,and the effectiveness of PAD mode is tested by comparing the writing scores of the two classes in pre-test and post-test.Finally,the satisfaction degree of PAD teaching mode in experimental class is investigated by questionnaire survey.The research results show that PAD teaching mode can effectively improve students’ writing ability and interest in writing.The experimental class students are satisfied with the application of PAD teaching mode in English writing teaching.
