| ’Four Pictures From New York’ is a four-movement saxophone concerto composed by Roberto Molinelli.It has been inspired by four famous urban street scenes in New York,USA.In this piece,the composer chose to use three different Saxophones to play different movements in different styles.This article has four chapters.The first chapter will briefly introduce the characteristics of three different types of saxophone.The second chapter is going to introduce the life of the composer—Robert Molinelli and also going to introduce the background of the work "Four Pictures From New York" and the style of each movement.In the third chapter,through studying at the emotional mastery,performance techniques and technical difficulties,combined with author’s own performance experience,analyze the application of different types of saxophone in actual performance.The fourth chapter mainly going to discuss author’s thoughts through analyzing this piece. |
