After World War II,with the success of abstract expressionism in the United States,New York has become a gathering place of modern art.The booming economic strength of the United States after World War II has brought an endless source of art to modern art,thus promoting the emergence of various art schools,and also making artists from all over the world actively participate in the wave of American abstract painting.While participating in the "international wave",the original national culture is gradually ignored and abandoned.The evaluation system centered on American art makes the world art full of flowers become a unique one,and the original mainstream painting art is submerged in the long river of history.As ideas,minimalism and behavior gradually come to the end of abstraction,emptiness and superficiality,a new kind of painting scene has flourished in German and Italian art circles-New Expressionism,which has developed most thoroughly in Germany.The emergence of New Expressionism makes the dying painting just like the dying flowers and trees under the hot sun to get timely rain.As a result,artists began to pick up their brushes and frames and return to the old business of painting.Painting began to return to the tradition and is leading the art of painting to a new journey,winning a new world for postwar German painting.The main body of this paper is divided into four chapters.The first chapter mainly discusses the causes and development process of the formation of new expressionism painting,and combs the origin and background of New Expressionism.The second chapter starts with the return of the German New Expressionism figurative painting,discusses the return of the essence of the German New Expressionism figurative painting and the diversified painting language of the return,and excavates the richness of the new expressionism painting.The third chapter starts with the evolution of the German New Expressionism concrete painting,discusses the new creative breakthrough of the German New Expressionism on the basis of returning to the tradition,and then reveals the relationship between the early expressionism and the New Expressionism,which is both in one continuous line and bringing forth the new,and affirms the "new" meaning of the New Expressionism.The fourth chapter is the author’s in-depth analysis of the Contemporary Enlightenment brought by the return and evolution of German Neo expressionism figurative painting.To sum up,the unique style of German new expressionism painting marks that the western modern art,especially the painting art,has stepped out of the difficult situation of "painting has ended"-the bitter winter is coming and the dawn of spring is coming.It is not only a return to the high level of expressionism at the beginning of the century,but also a new evolution. |
