A Study On Cross-cultural Adaptability Of Euro-American Students In Chongqing

In recent years,with the rapid development of China’s economy,China’s national strength is growing stronger,international influence is rising,and more foreign students come to China to study.Chongqing,as the youngest municipality directly under the Central Government and the western region of China,is at the junction of "Belt and Road" and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.Chongqing is becoming a destination for more and more foreign students.Statistics show that Euro-American students have become one of the important sources of foreign students in Chongqing,and they also account for a larger proportion of foreign students.Because of the great cultural background difference between China and the West,compared with the students of Asian countries,the cultural differences felt by Euro-American students are more intense,and it is easier to misunderstand and discomfort in the process of Chongqing life.Therefore,how to correctly understand the problems and difficulties encountered by Euro-American students in the process of cross-cultural adaptation in Chongqing,take the initiative to help them analyze the reasons,and strive to provide solutions and measures.It is particularly important to minimize the difficulty of cross-cultural adaptation.This paper selects Southwest University,a very representative university in Chongqing,as the goal,to investigate and study the students in Europe and the United States,to investigate the students through questionnaires and interviews,and understand their cross-cultural adaptation in Chongqing,mainly from the social life,psychology,cross-cultural communication,learning adaptation and other aspects of the current situation,through the difference analysis to understand the influencing factors of each dimension,and explore the relationship between the various research levels,further find out the main problems in cross-cultural adaptation,and put forward operational suggestions.The purpose of this study is to deeply understand the study and living conditions of Euro-American students,in order to provide suggestions for the teaching and management of foreign students in Chongqing,to help solve the problem of cross-cultural adaptation of them in Chongqing,to promote their better understanding of Chinese culture,and to enhance friendship,so as to truly achieve "mutual understanding of the people ".At the same time,it accumulates and enriches the beneficial experience of international education in Chongqing universities and promotes the internationalization development of colleges and universities.
