Discuss The Portrayal And Singing Analysis Of The Maid Role In The Aria "Farewell,Loving Home"

The opera “Madame Butterfly” is one of the most famous works of Puccini in the romantic period.This is a great lyric tragedy,which is set in Japan.It narrates that the heroine Qiao Qiao sang and Pinkerton,an American navy officer,stay in the boudoir after their marriage,but what they are waiting for is betrayal.In the end,Qiao Qiao sang committed suicide.Farewell,home in love is the most brilliant tenor aria in this opera.The melody is sad and melancholy,and has a very strong dramatic and lyrical nature.In this paper,based on the background of Madame Butterfly and the general plot of the opera,I focus on the analysis of the aria "Farewell,Home of Love" from three aspects: analysis of the composition,characterization and singing.In the analysis of the characterization,the author studies the relevant historical background,so that he can accurately grasp the role,analyze the emotional expression in the libretto,and make the characterization in the singing reasonable;in the analysis of the singing,the author mainly analyzes the handling of breath and tone,and will explain how to interpret the work with his personal study and singing practice.
