As one of the important music educators in Zhejiang Province,Jin Maojun has made great contributions to the development of music education in Jiangsu and Zhejiang after the founding of the People’s Republic of China.In 1957,after graduating from Shanghai Conservatory of Music,Jin Maojun worked as a teacher at the school,which began his exploration of music education.He once taught harmony and composition in the Affiliated Middle School of Shanghai Conservatory of Music,and his class produced many talented music writers.He also served as the first music criticism teacher in the Department of Ethnomic Music Theory of Shanghai Conservatory of Music,and his innovative and bold teaching was deeply loved by students.Different from his time in Shanghai,after coming to Zhejiang,Jin Maojun focused on teaching and training grass-roots music lovers and music teachers in primary and secondary schools,and began to study the current situation of grass-roots music education in Zhejiang.At the same time,Jin Maojun also participated in the publication of the magazine "Music Education in Primary and Secondary Schools".She worked hard in editing,interviewing and soliciting manuscripts.Now the magazine has become an important way for grassroots music teachers to learn and make their voices heard.Jin Maojun has written many critical articles in his life.In his seventies,he is still engaged in interviews and interviews,and has provided abundant resources for the study and research of musicians by describing vivid musicians and musical activities with brilliant brushwork.Jin Maojun has been working hard all her life,making selfless contributions to the cause of music theory research and music education and never changing her original intention.However,there are few relevant researches on such an old man.Such a music educator and music critic are worthy of further study,and his thoughts are worthy of reference and study by music workers.Therefore,this paper will take Jin Maojun as the research object and collect first-hand historical materials through interviews with him,hoping to present Jin Maojun’s musical footprints comprehensively and vividly.This paper is composed of four chapters.The first chapter is about Jin Maojun’s growth and study experience.Through the study of Jin Maojun’s family environment and study experience,the opportunity of Jin Maojun’s getting involved with music and the historical origin of her later work in music education are explored.The second chapter is about music criticism and publicity,which mainly studies the characteristics of Jin Maojun’s music criticism,and also records his propaganda work on music education activities,especially the piano teaching activities in Ningbo.The third chapter is the journal of music education in primary and secondary schools,which is a study of the contribution it has made in the journal of music education in primary and secondary schools and the related issues of music education thought reflected in the editor of the journal.The fourth chapter is the practice of basic education,which mainly analyzes and studies the practice of music education in the two periods of his experience,the music textbooks and the popular music books produced with the courses,and reflects his ideas of music education through the students he cultivated..
