| According to the English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education, the general goal of the English curriculum is to enable students to form comprehensive language ability.Language skills are important parts of comprehensive language ability and teachers should train students in four aspects: listening, speaking, reading and writing. In traditional English teaching, many teachers pay more attention to the training of grammar, reading and writing but ignore the cultivation of students’ oral English ability.Under the new curriculum reform,China has made a great breakthrough in oral English teaching in junior high schools, but it is undeniable that oral English teaching is still weak. Therefore, this paper combines the language input theory of Krashen and the language output theory of Swain.Taking a topic as a unit, the author combines the reciting input with the oral expression output and introduces mind map into the recitation and expression process to explore the influence of mind map-based articles recitation and oral expression training on the oral proficiency of junior high school students. This study takes the students of Class 5,Grade 1,Qijiang Junior High School as the research objects and adopts the research methods such as questionnaire surveys, experimental teaching and oral testing to carry out a follow-up experiment for one semester. And focus on the following questions:1.After the experiment,Will the students change their understanding and attitude towards the mind map-based article recitation-oral output strategy and oral English? Will the students enhance their interests in spoken English?2.Can the mind map-based article recitation-oral output strategy improve the oral proficiency of junior high school students? If so,what aspects have been improved?Through the analysis of the questionnaire surveys and oral tests data before and after the experiment, the results are as follows:1.After the experiment, students changed their understandings and attitudes toward the mind map-based articles recitation-oral output strategy. Most of the students have enhanced their interests in oral English learning. They showed positive attitudes toward the mind map-based articles recitation-oral output strategy and tend to use this strategy in their future oral English learning.2.Mind map-based recitation changed the way of reciting by rote, which enables students to accumulate relevant knowledge required for language expression effectively. The teacher guides the students to pay attention to the accuracy of the pronunciation of the words. All of these prepare the students for good oral output.Oral output based on mind map can enable the students to diverge their thinking and organize the expression in such a way as to create a logical framework for the topic which can make the expression more logical, more fluent and richer in content. All of these can improve the accuracy, fluency, and richness of students’ oral expression and improve their oral proficiency. |
