Image Construction Of Female Painters-Research On Tang Shuyu’s History Of Yutai Painting

The History of Painting in Yutai is a collection of historical materials compiled by Tang Shuyu,a female historian in Qing Dynasty,it is the first and only valuable text on female painters in ancient China.The content of this paper is divided into three parts: First,starting with the style of the history of Yutai Painting,this paper analyzes the origin and background of the style,and interprets the writings style of the female works in the Ming and Qing dynasties,discuss the reason why Tang Shuyu pays attention to women.Secondly,combing the relevant contents of the female painter in the History of Yutai painting,analyzing how Tang Shuyu constructed the image of the female painter from the aspects of her identity,talent,virtue,personality and market,then standard.Finally,the paper summarizes 316 documents collected in the history of Yutai Painting,and explores how Tang Shuyu used these documents to construct a female art history.
