| Cyborg refers to the integration system of human body and electronic machinery. The rapid development of bioengineering technology and electronic information engineering technology has given human society a new method to re-examine the relationship between self and the other, and has also blurred the boundaries between human, machines, animals and even nature. The 1980 s was a special period in which turbulence and alternation coexisted, and it was also a transitional phase for typification writing of Science Fiction. From scientific fantasy to reality,Cyborg has become a dynamic comprehensive topic and cultural term. The theme of Sci-Fi has an inseparable relationship with the development of science and technology. The third technological revolution quickly catalyzed the integration of human and technology. The maturity of humanoid devices, space odyssey, genetic engineering, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality technology has promoted the turning of the topic from the perspective of Post-humanism into the focus of Cyberpunk novels and Chinese Sci-Fi writers. The current academic research focuses on theoretical research or image research. The author selects Cyborg as an important phenomenon in Sci-Fi since the 1980 s,researches its formation mechanism, artistic value and literary expression, and discusses the complex metaphorical meaning and connotation of the times. The thesis takes Donna J.Haraway’s Cyborg theoretical system as an important standpoint, and incorporates Sci-Fi since the 1980 s as a main research object. The author adopts the method of disciplinary integration to expand the concept of Cyborg. The future consciousness and the representation of the times are the focus of the research. The thesis is mainly divided into four parts:The introduction defines the concept of the thesis, expounds the academic value and research significance, combs the related academic achievements, and summarizes the research ideas and innovation points.Chapter one: The contemporary landscape and Sci-Fi image of Cyborg. The author analyzes the development process of Cyborg from directions of evolution, cybernetics and astronautics, showing the image of Sci-Fi in different historical contexts.Analyze the political expression of Cyberpunk novels and the shift of focus of scientific research(such as early imagination of humanoid installations and type writing of space odyssey)on changes in the literary image and style of Sci-Fi since the 1980 s.Through the Singularity theory,it analyzes the ontological transformation of ‘technical body’ or ‘personalized technology’,and expands the concept of Cyborg, and lists artificial intelligence technology as the research object.Through Sci-Fi,it analyzes the topic of species boundary and the survival dilemma or future prospects of the technological era.Chapter two:The artistic expression and literary prototype of Cyborg. The author interpret the inspiring significance of youth subculture to punk aesthetics and Sci-Fi writing, analyze the body, technology and magic of Steampunk novels. Finally,it analyzes aesthetic characteristics from the perspective of imageries and novel types.Chapter three: The cultural representation and future symptoms of Cyborg. The author analyze the catastrophe themes and metaphors(machine metaphor and disease metaphor)of Sci-Fi since the 1980 s.The chapter incorporates bioengineering technology into the research object, and interprets its crisis consciousness from the power reflection of biochemical virus, the alienation of humanity in Post-apocalypse novels and the ethical dilemma of scientific worship. In addition,it analyzes the main body status and living conditions of the Cyberspace, interprets the linkage of the technical body in the virtual space and the real field, and expounds the dilemma faced by the urban population in the digital age.The popularity of Cyborg and derivative concepts is linked to the wave of Sci-Fi since the1980 s,and has intertextuality with art forms such as comics, movies, and video games. It has now become a global technical and cultural topic. At present, academic research on the Cyborg phenomenon in Sci-Fi since the 1980 s is still in the development stage, and still has a relatively broad space for breakthroughs.Discussion on topics such as the complex relationship between the technical body and the real society or the future trend of Sci-Fi creation will become the focus of literature research. |
