The thesis is based on the author’s translation and proofreading practice of English novel named The Book of Dirt.The author of The Book of Dirt is the Australian writer Bram Presser,who has won Best Australian Stories Award and Australian Writing Award.Its Chinese translation version was a cooperative project with YGYM company,which was published in 2018.Literary stylistics is a branch of stylistics that illustrates the aesthetic value and thematic meaning of literary text,a bridge between linguistics and literary criticism,which emphasizes exploring how writers deliver and strengthen the thematic meaning and aesthetic value by choosing words wisely.Studying on the translation of The Book of Dirt from the perspective of literary stylistics concentrates on the features from both linguistics and literature.The Book of Dirt belongs to Jewish literature and Holocaust literature,combining the documentary and fictional literary features of Holocaust narrative novels.In view of the specialty of the translation text mentioned above,the author will illustrate the translation and proofreading progress of the foreword and section 7-8 of chapter 3 in The Book of Dirt from the perspective of literary stylistics.Furthermore,to keep the literary feature of the translated text consistent with that of the source text,the author will elaborate the translation methods from three aspects including register,narrative perspective and discourse expression,and adopt the methods of literary translation and transliteration.
