Today we have entered the era of mass culture.The distinctive characteristics of the "individual"of the people have been summarized as a different kind of "public".The focus of contemporary visual cultural design is the public aesthetic.With the improvement of our living standards and the great development of social,cultural,economic,and political life,people’s pursuit of consumption is not only about the material,but also the spiritual and emotional pursuit.With the great development of science and technology,traditional media has entered the omnimedia era.The updated iteration of the media provides more choices for our entertainment and pastime.While mass media constructs the world in people’ s minds,it also reflects the social environment people live in from different angles.The mainstream media assumes the responsibility of guiding the public to establish correct values and aesthetic ideals,and cultivating people to form a positive and healthy world outlook and attitude towards life.However,in order to meet the aesthetic needs of different tastes,different types of TV programs and variety shows are dazzling.Watching variety shows has become one of the main ways people pursue spiritual consumption.Different kinds of variety shows attract audiences through content and production,but the main visual design effect of the program is the first impression left to the audience,which plays an indispensable role in winning the audience’s "attention" and establishing a good program image.This article is divided into five parts.The introduction of the first chapter mainly analyzes the concept of the main visual design of the variety show,the research background of the topic,the research purpose,the research method and the content.On this basis,the second chapter looks at the main visual design of variety shows from the perspective of public aesthetics.It is divided into two parts:the rise of popular aesthetics and the beginning of variety shows,and the influence of the main visual design of variety shows on public aesthetics.Chapter Three looks at the main visual design of variety shows from the perspectives of audience positioning in marketing,information dissemination in semiotics,emotional introduction in semantics,and media expansion in communication.Chapter 4 starts from the perspective of "Happy Camp" and analyzes the changes in the design and application of the main vision from 1997 to the present.The fifth chapter is the practice of "Angel’s Road" variety show main visual redesign,from which the influencing factors and application of the main visual design style of variety show are analyzed.This research uses analytical methods and case study methods to interpret the presentation,performance and function of the main visual design of variety shows under the changing aesthetics of the masses,and explore the meaning generation mechanism behind the visual symbols of the programs.
