Xu Xiutang Zisha Pottery Art Research And Creative Application

The purple sand pottery art occupies a pivotal position in Chinese traditional culture,and it is the most commonly used decorative skill in purple sand art.It expresses the charm of Chinese traditional culture through pottery carving,and has reached today’s height through the reform and innovation of skilled craftsmen and literati in various dynasties,which contains the spiritual wealth of pottery artists.This paper analyzes the charm of Zisha pottery art,interprets Xu Xiutang’s contribution to Zisha pottery art,studies Xu Xiutang’s works combined with landscapes,flowers and birds,figures and calligraphy,analyzes their style characteristics,analyzes his unique views on knife art,and tastes the value of inheritance and development of Zisha pottery culture.In the process of studying the art of pottery carving,I studied the style of purple sand pottery carving in Xu Xiutang.On the one hand,I enjoyed the artistic charm of purple sand pottery carving and improved my aesthetic taste;On the other hand,he studied Xu Xiutang’s engraving and painting techniques,improved his own cutting skills,copied and created after repeated practice and training,and integrated Xu Xiutang’s attainments in purple sand pottery carving and benefited from purple sand creation.Combining Xu Xiutang’s characteristics in composition,cutting and material selection,he created works such as "Clear Sound of Mountains and Waters".Finally,the modern Zisha pottery carving is expanded,and the academic knife method of Guang Liu is studied,and the creation and summary are carried out.
