Research On The Costumes Of Female Characters In The Frescoes Of Notre Dame Hall Of Notre Dame Temple In Fenyang,Shanxi Province

The number of ancient temple frescoes in Shanxi accounts for a large part of the country.After eight dynasties of Tang,Five Dynasties,Song,Liao,Jin,Yuan,Ming and Qing,the total number of frescoes is more than 23000 square meters.The frescoes of each Dynasty inherited and constructed a huge fresco system.The frescoes of temples in Shanxi declined in the Ming Dynasty,and the characters began to be stylized.However,the frescoes of Notre Dame temple in Fenyang stand out from many kinds of frescoes,which is a pearl that can not be ignored in the frescoes of Ming Dynasty.There are 259 figures in the frescoes of Notre Dame hall,including 73 female characters.The number of female characters in this mural painting and the concentration of the layout of female characters can be called“The kingdom of women”.The costumes of female figures in the frescoes of Notre Dame temple in Fenyang are rooted in the dress system of Ming Dynasty.They also have the local characteristics of Shanxi and the evolution and innovation of painters.They are valuable materials for studying the costumes and paintings of Ming Dynasties.Through the field investigation,literature review and practice of coping mural parts and other research methods,taking women’s clothing as the breakthrough point,this paper deeply explores the artistic charm of murals,and explores the value and significance of coping and protecting murals for this major.This paper discusses the dress images of female characters in the frescoes of Notre Dame hall from the following aspects.The first chapter is about the interpretation of the images of female characters in the murals,to understand the layout and specific analysis of female characters in the murals.The second chapter from the Ming Dynasty dress system and women’s dress environment as the background to explore the cause of formation and general overview of women’s dress in the hall of Notre Dame murals.The third chapter discusses the female dress image in the wall paintings of Notre Dame hall from the aspects of dress style,dress color,dress accessories and dress patterns,and explores the beauty of female characters’dress in murals and cultural connotation.The fourth chapter mainly expounds the significance of the study of female dress in the mural copying and protection,and the influence and inspiration to my own practice and creation.
