| In February 1908,when The Japanese merchant ship Nishemaru was entrusted to a large number of Commerce to the Chinese manufacturers that could not enter into the ship. The owner of the ship decided to privately unload arms in the Waters of the Jiazhou Ocean in Chinese waters, which was captured by the Chinese anti-smuggl anti-ing ship who had known the news.China and Japan began diplomatic negotiations over the Nishemaru incident, prompting and sustained boycott of Japanese goods in China. The event had a great impact on society at that time and had a profound historical significance. At present, there is still a lot of room for further research on relevant issues. Therefore, intended to use the Japanese foreign ministry of original Chinese Dang Agency guides, and information of newspapers and periodicals occured in southern China. In view of the Nishemaru incident, the causes of the incident explored and the three stages of the negotiation process between China and Japan. In the study of the first boycott of Japanese goods movement, the author intends to sort out the organization, scale and final result of the movement, and discuss Japans representation of the revolutionary one.At the same time, this paper explores the special role played by the public opinions of China and Japan during the Nishemaru event and the movement of Japans. The private discharge of arms in Nishemaru was the ship owner’s personal behavior, but Japan raised the matter to the diplomatic level, adopted the sophisticated diplomatic means and the strong bargaining attitude, even the threat of force, and played a series of "one-two strikes" to force China to accept all the Japanese conditions. As a result, the Chinese people led by the gentry and the merchants organized an unprecedented and sustained boycott of Japanese goods.Although the movement was not mature, had no clear purpose and resisted for the sake of resistance, and there were serious class limitations in the gentry and business class, and the complicated factors above all caused the movement to fail,it boosted the national morale in spirit and promoted the generation of the concept of national nationality. In terms of the research of public opinions,it is found that the Chinese and Japanese media play different roles in the course of the event and its influence. They have objective influences in the course of the campaign, whether to persuade them to view the event calmly and objectively,or to add impetus and stir up the flames. |
