| With the continuous strengthening of international exchanges,legal translation is performing an increasingly essential part in the political,economic,and social fields.Legal cases and texts regarded as excellent legal materials can directly reflect the parties’ outlook on money,morality,and life,so that people who share a common interest in the law can know the law and observe it,and learn to apply the law to protect themselves.In order that the relevant staff can improve their comprehensive quality,and make reference materials and defense preparation for the relevant cases involving foreigners,the translation practice is entrusted by Kunming Jiuzhou Fangyuan Law Firm to translate the typical cases in the book Fine Case Study and Juristic Research organized by Zhejiang Haitai Law Firm and edited by Wu Huilin.The translator is in charge of the translation of Chapter Two and Chapter Four.The source text is informative text.Therefore,the translator mainly adopts Functional Equivalence theory of American translator Eugene A.Nida.Firstly,the translator briefly introduces the characteristics of the source text,and the background and significance of the translation task.Secondly,the whole translation process is recorded,including pre-translation preparation,the application of translation theories and strategies,the translation process and post-translation review.Thirdly,based on this theory,the translator makes a case study from the lexical,syntactic,and textual levels.To improve the reliability and validity of the translation,the translator uses proper translation methods,such as literal translation,division,addition and deletion translation,emphasizing on the reader as the center,the readability,professionalism,and humanity of the target text.Finally,the translator summarizes the translation practice and shares the gains and limitations of this translation practice. |
