Rumination is an individual’s negative emotions after experiencing negative events, and unconsciously repetitive and passive thinking about the possible causes and consequences of these negative emotions. It is a non-adaptive emotional adjustment method, and it is also a relatively stable personality traits.Individuals with high rumination are prone to negative emotions.Reappraisal is an antecedent-focused strategy,it occurs in the early stage of emotion generation. It refers to the individual consciously reinterpreting the meaning of facts, thereby reducing emotional response.Research shows that reappraisal is an effective emotion regulation strategy.Suppression is a response-focused strategy, which occurs in the late stage of emotion generation. It means that individuals reduce their emotional response by inhibiting the emotional behavior that will or has been generated.Studies have shown that it is a negative emotion regulation strategy. My research is based on nurses.I send hundreds of questionnaires and got back 669 useful questionnaires from three tertiary A-level hospitals in Nanchang City,Jiangxi Province. The details are as follows: Use the self-compiled "Basic Situation Questionnaire" to collect the gender, age, technical title, etc.of the subjects; The emotion regulation strategy scale compiled by Gross et al.measures the level of emotion regulation;the ruminant thinking response scale compiled by Nolen-Hoeksema is used to measure the level of rumination thinking;the general anxiety scale compiled by Spitzer et al.is used to measure anxiety; The depression self-rating scale SDS compiled by Zung measures depression Then I used statistics analysis software SPSS19.0 to analysis the data’s Descriptive analysis independent samples t test,Pearson correlation analysis, variance analysis, regression analysis, used structure equation modeling software Amos24.0 to analysis these data’s path analysis. The research results show that:(1)Nurses have higher levels of anxiety and depression.(2)There is a significant correlation among nurses’ rumination, reappraisal, suppression, anxiety and depression;rumination, reappraisal and suppression can significantly predict anxiety and depression.(3)reappraisal was a mediator variable between nurses’ rumination and depression and anxiety.(4)suppression was a adjusting variable between nurses’ rumination and depression, thus, suppression plays a buffering role in the effect of rumination on depression.Due to the limitation of conditions, this study has certain deficiencies in sample size and sampling range.Follow-up studies can make up for it by expanding the sampling range and increasing the sample size.
