Animals are important elements in classical gardens and often appear in landscape literature.From the pre-Qin Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty,all kinds of gardens have great changes,whether in garden form,garden structure or garden culture.In the Tang Dynasty,when various art types fully carried forward their own national traditions,they also actively absorbed the strengths of various cultures,integrated them,and finally nurtured the splendid culture of the times.The same is true for gardens.Royal gardens,private gardens,temple gardens have all developed rapidly,and poets have also left a large number of poems.Animal writing is also a key part of garden poetry,so this paper will be divided into three chapters to study animal writing in garden poetry.The first chapter introduces the general history of garden in the four epochs of the pre-Qin,Qin and Han,Wei-Jin,Northern and Southern Dynasties,Sui and Tang Dynasties,and the situation of garden animals and the writing of garden animals.The purpose is to explore the significance of garden animals in the history of garden construction,by analyzing the records of garden making and garden animals.Through analysis,the meaning is mainly economic benefits,theological symbols,entertainment activities and etc.Then I will feel the emotion of scholars towards garden animals when they are writing literature from the poetry.And we can see that this feeling is mainly emotional sustenance,visual viewing and etc.Finally,the uniqueness of garden animals in garden culture is summarized,that is,in the context of the unity of opposites between natural attributes and social attributes,the garden owners,garden animals and gardens provide each other with attribute supplement,which is helpful to deepen the understanding of garden poetry.The second chapter mainly analyzes the meaning behind the writing of garden animals in Tang poetry: literary writing and animal cultural connotation.The first part analyzes the writing angle of animals,mainly from four aspects: action,sound,color,body and trace.It not only states the differences in writing,but also excavates the psychology of writing.The second part analyzes the three patterns of animal writing,which are mainly distinguished by the dual connotation of animal natural attribute and social attribute.The writing of social attribute is divided into two angles: animal personification and human zoology.The writing of natural attribute can be divided into garden animals that are close to people and garden animals that are separated from people.Through these four perspectives,the author’s writing is explored.The third part analyzes the cultural significance of garden animal writing.The first section is the writing connotation of animal alignment,which means that the fish and bird alignment in poetry represents all the animal landscape in the garden,the flower and bird alignment represents all the natural landscape in the garden.and bird butterfly alignment represents the unity of landscape and sound landscape.The second section analyzes the main animal writing of eight kinds of gardens,starting from cranes,swallows,deer,apes and macaques,fish,horses,birds and non-garden animals,and analyzes the cultural connotations behind them.The third section is about the animal writing of different types of gardens.It focuses on royal gardens and temple gardens with distinctive characteristics.It analyzes the reason of the large number of virtual animals in the royal gardens,and the temple garden starts with the integration of the three religions.The third chapter mainly draws on the Western theories and summarizes the garden animal esthetics significance.The first section analyzes the aesthetic significance of animal landscape,and divides the writing of garden animals into three parts based on the aesthetic psychological model of Steven Blassar: the surrounding world,the common world and the self-world.The surrounding world summarizes the blending of the aesthetic sense of garden animals’ writing perception with “synesthesia” as the core.The common world summarizes the aesthetic egalitarianism of fish and birds by using landscape aesthetic theory.And the psychological aesthetic distance of animal landscapes is similar to that of animals generally exhibited.The connotation of seclusion is in three aspects.The self-world mainly analyzes the common method of garden animals becoming the author’s sustenance.The second section starts from the architectural space and the psychological space,analyzes the garden animal space esthetic,also divides into three parts.The first part analyzes the expansion of garden psychological perception space brought by animals.The second part analyzes the space exploration desire and “deep” aesthetic feeling brought by animals in garden space overlap.Next,it analyzes the discovery and writing of garden insects after the collapse of psychological perception space when the author’s emotion is low.The third part analyzes the practical aesthetics of animals,summarizes the importance of animals in the daily experience of gardens from the practical experience of aimlessness and culture,and embodies the multiple connotations of garden animals in different writing.
