On The Artistic Expression Of Chinese Streets And Lanes Theme Watercolor Painting

In view of historical and social development and other reasons,the old streets and alleys with strong memories have gradually disappeared from people’s vision.Therefore,watercolor painting of street and lane theme has become one of the indispensable and important themes in painting creation.This article divides the advanced course of street-themed watercolor paintings in China into four stages through the review,collection and sorting of related books and pictures.They are the budding period(before 1949),the growth period(1949-1978),the innovation period(1978-20 th mid-1990s),and the exploration period(mid-1990 s to today).The second part of the article gives examples and analyses of the artistic expressions of watercolor painting from the three aspects of the composition,color and technique of watercolor paintings of street and lane theme,discusses the realistic and freehand art of the outstanding works of watercolor painting artists of each era.Specific examples and descriptions of the style are given.The third part expounds the creative meaning of street and lane theme watercolors from two aspects: realistic meaning and humanistic care.The fourth part starts with my creative practice,and describes the creative background,creative methods and emotional expression of creative creation.From the overall point of view,the theoretical knowledge of the creation of watercolor paintings on street and lane subjects is rarer than other subjects,and most of them have no systematic analysis and combing.Therefore,I use this article to summarize and supplement the creative theoretical knowledge of street and lane theme watercolor painting.
