In the hommage activity,“In Honor of 70 th Birthday of Famous Musical Sponsor and Conductor,Paul Sacher” in 1976,Boulez composed a work for violoncello solo and 6violoncellos,Messagesquisse.It was a work composed with the theme of the pitch corresponding to the letter of the last name,"SACHER",and the theme enlightened and inspired Boulez so much.After that,he successively composed works related with the SACHER Hexachord,including Dérive Ⅰ,those accounts for most of the late period of Boulez ’s creation.The paper takes Boulez’s Messagesquisse and Dérive Ⅰ for analysis examples.Twelve tone,whole sequence,set and other theories are the starting points,and the origin for the naming with the SACHER hexachord,the derivation of the SACEHR hexachord in the works of Boulez and its application are the contents of the research,so as to explore the creation thinking and music opinion of Boulez.There are total three chapters in the paper and the details are shown as follows.First chapter is the origin of the SACHER hexachord and the relevant creation of Boulez.There is introduction to the Paul Sacher and the creation in the collection with the theme of SACHER is sorted out,so as to lead to the origin of Boulez’s creation of the theme and the summary of two works,Messagesquisse and Dérive Ⅰ.Next chapter is the specification of the theme,SACHER.There is mainly analysis of the prototype pitch organization and texture form of two works under the theme of SACHER,Messagesquisse and Dérive Ⅰ with specific examples;and there is analysis of a series of methods and principles of the derivation of the theme.The third chapter is the application of the derivation of the theme,SACHER.In this chapter,there is key narration on the characteristics of cross mixing and penetration in the theme,SACHER and its derived set of Dérive Ⅰ;and there is description of mathematical combination form of the theme in different structures in Messagesquisse.
