| The ethics thought as a study of human beings is the starting point for understanding Watsuji Tetsuro’s ethical thought.In Ethics as a Study of human beings,Watsuji Tetsuro presents ethics as the study of the Tao and order of human relationships based on the fundamental existence of the human common state.This publications not only represents the beginning of Watsuji Tetsuro’s unique ethical system,but also occupies an important place in his ethical thought and research career.By reading Ethics as a Study of human beings,we can understand that Watsuji Tetsuro’s ethics thought as a study of human beings is based on the analysis of the origin of word "Ethics" and the thought of Mencius five relations and five regulars to interprets the basis for human relationships from roles,activities,order,and ideal states.The keynote of the study of ethics is that ethics is the order to be followed by the roles in the human common state between people and is fundamental to the human common state.This also leads to a discussion of the temporality and spatiality of human existence,that is,the duality of space and time of human beings.From the perspective of the duality of space and time,modern society,with the development of productivity and science and technology,has produced new changes in its temporality,spatiality and characteristics of interpersonal relationships.These new changes make interpersonal interactions in modern society present in globalization,mystification and aggregation,and also make interpersonal interactions present unbalanced interactions,and the role and activity state in interactions fall into a bad state.From the perspective of Watsuji Tetsuro’s ethical thinking as the study of human beings,the direction of the new interpersonal relationships arising in modern society is explored,using the idea of the common state between human beings as inspiration.The new type of interpersonal relationship that has emerged in modern society can generally be seen as a relationship between a distributor of information and a receiver of information.With this in mind,people are able to explore the direction of morality and order that self-restraint follows when conducting activities in interpersonal relationships based on interpersonal trust.In the relationship between the distributor and the recipient of information,the principle of "concession and equanimity" can provide a new direction for solving a range of problems arising from new interpersonal relationships.On this basis,the new interpersonal relationships are subdivided into three types of interpersonal relationships,namely those established for the purpose of seeking help,appealing and voicing out.The roles and activities in these three types of interpersonal relationships are explored,culminating in a search for the three types of interpersonal relationships based on "sincerity and trust","goodness and careful choice" and "careful speech and argumentation".The study also explores the direction in which people in these three interpersonal relationships develop towards the ideal state of interaction. |
