The widespread use of smart phones has become the trend of this era.It is both a pastime tool for our entertainment and social interaction,and a powerful assistant for our travel and study,but people also face physiological and psychological hazards when they overuse smart-phones..College students’ social anxiety and influencing factors have become a public health issue,which has attracted widespread attention from society and schools.Studies have shown that mobile phone dependence is closely related to social anxiety.Therefore,we pay attention to the impact of mobile phone dependence on social anxiety and propose effective intervention measures.Thereby improving the mental health of college students.This study will investigate the effect of cell phone dependence on social anxiety by taking cell phone dependence of college students as the starting point,starting from insomnia and rejection sensitivity,aiming to enrich the related theoretical research and provide reference for the development of mental health education courses for college students.This study is divided into two parts,and Study 1 adopts the Self-assessment Questionnaire of Mobile Phone Use Dependence revised by Tao Shuman et al.(2013),the Interaction Anxiety Scale revised by Peng Chunzi(2004),the Chinese version of the Severity Index of Insomnia Scale and the Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire for College Students revised by Zhao Yanlin,Li Wentao and Zhang Lin(2012)through a questionnaire survey method.Using college students from three universities in Baoding,Nanchang and Chengdu as the subjects of the study,the following conclusions were obtained.1.The scores of college students on the cell phone dependence scale differed significantly in terms of grade and physical health status;insomnia level differed significantly in terms of mother’s education,physical health status,and economic status;rejection sensitivity level differed significantly in terms of mother’s education;and social anxiety scores differed significantly in terms of gender,father’s education,and physical health status.Except for these aspects,there were no significant differences in cell phone dependence,insomnia,rejection sensitivity,and social anxiety in other aspects;2.Cell phone dependence was associated with insomnia,rejection sensitivity and social anxiety;3.Insomnia and rejection sensitivity play a chain mediating role between mobile phone dependence and social anxiety.Cell phone dependence is influencing the level of social anxiety of individuals through their insomnia index and rejection sensitivity level.In Study 2,20 subjects,divided into high and low groups,were selected and interviewed based on the scores of cell phone dependence in Study 1,and the main findings were as follows:1.College students who are dependent on mobile phones have a higher level of social anxiety than college students who are not dependent on mobile phones;2.There is no significant difference in sleep and rejection sensitivity among college students with different degrees of mobile phone dependence. |
