The period of the Republic of China is the occurrence and development of the modern epistolary style. The epistolary style not only presents a linear process of "developing-prosperous-declining" on the whole, but also shows a more abundant and complex derivative form in different historical periods. Therefore, this paper attempts to return to the historical context and literary scene from the perspective of the Republic of China, and analyzes the development of the style of letters by stages on the basis of the collection of historical materials. The first chapter tries to clarify the connotation and denotation of key words such as letter and letter style in literary practice,so as to facilitate the in-depth study and expansion of letter style. This paper tries to explain the complex interembedding relationship between letters and letters on the basis of attention to their stylistic correlation. In view of the relative certainty and fuzziness of the standard of literariness and practicality in literature practice, this paper illustrates with concrete examples in order to solve the classification problem of letter style which has been avoided in previous works. The second chapter mainly discusses the formation process of the epistolary style in the early Republic of China. This paper discusses the epistolary tradition of Chinese classical literature and the translation and introduction of western epistolary.Taking erotic letters and classical letters collection into the research field, this paper combs out the translation influence of specific works and the publishing significance of the Soul of the Jade Pear, and explains the generation of modern epistolary form jointly constructed by internal and external parties. The third chapter mainly discusses the literary phenomenon and the causes of the flourishing letters in the middle of the Republic of China.Collate and compile the loss of 109(articles)bibliography.At the same time, this paper tries to reveal the causes of the letter-style of this period as a "daily" phenomenon, and analyzes the high agreement between the characteristics of the period and the characteristics of the style, such as the high attention to individuals, the expression of self-talk and exposure, and the implication of revolution and rebellion,so as to form the development peak of the letter-style of the Republic of China. The fourth chapter makes an in-depth analysis of the letter-style of the late Republic of China, which is less concerned in the research.First of all,234 epistolaries and related bibliographies were collected and collated to illustrate the fact that the epistolary style of this period was relatively active, and to avoid the empirical judgment on the literary situation restricted by the specific historical view of anti-Japanese war literature. This paper focuses on the revaluation of the value of the letter style in the late Republic of China, and attempts to comb through the complex nature of two-way choice between the era and the style reflected in the adaptation and contradiction between the style and the era.The fifth chapter summarizes the general development clue of the letter-style in the Republic of China and the complex relationship between the lyric nature of the letter-style and the evolution of The Times.Especially in the late Republic of China, the letter-style failed to continue its development trend, which was not a decline process caused by the conflict between The Times and the style, but a normal development stage of non-mainstream style to a large extent, essentially following the natural rise and fall process of the letter-style.
