Study On Harnesses In The Northern China During Warring States Period And Qin-Han Dynasty

Horse is top the list of 6 domestic animals.Horse is one of the earliest domesticated animals.Horse domestication has promoted the development of human society,and advanced the progress of human civilization.The process of the horse domestication is long and slow,and harnesses has played an important role in the process.Horsebit and horse curb chain,as the core component of hornesses,are used in pairs and inseparable.Features of the horsebits and horse curb chains used in the Northern China from Warring States Period to Qin-Han dynasty were distinctive.Therefore,this paper takes the horsebits and horse curb chains as objects.On this basis,this paper takes their shape and structure as the starting point,and focuses on their development.The paper shows the epochal characteristics and regional characteristics of hornesses in the Northern China during Warring States Period and Qin-Han Dynasty.The paper is divided into 5 parts.First part is introduction.Firstly,the paper introduces the significance of the subject and shows the value of the theme;secondly,the paper defines terms relevant to research object and space-time scope;thirdly,the paper reviews research history of relevant problems,sums up the research status,and analyzes existing problems.Finally,the paper shows research purpose and methods.The second part is sorting of basic materials.The author introduces the unearthed site,unearthed situation and tomb age in all administrative divisions in the Northern China during Warring States Period and Qin-Han Dynasty by the tomb excavation time,and describes details and features of horsebits and horse curb chains in the attached form.The third part conducts taxonomical study.From the perspective of typological perspective,the part divides the types of horsebits and horse curb chains unearthed in the Northern China during Warring States Period and Qin-Han Dynasty,and sums up structure characteristics.Based on this,the paper discusses connection ways and application methods of horsebits and horse curb chains.The fourth part conducts stage research.Based on the typology,the paper conducts staging research.Meanwhile,the paper refers to typical artifacts coexisting with horsebits and horse curb chains and existing research results,and judges the popular times of various of horsebits and horse curb chains.In addition,the part states development and evolution rules of the development of horsebits and horse curb chains in the Northern China during Warring States Period and Qin-Han Dynasty,and shows the epochal characteristics and regional characteristics.The fifth part summarizes and concludes three major cognitions and pints out research weaknesses in the research.
