This report is based on the simultaneous interpreting practice of “Trade 2030”WTO Public Forum(2018).The forum includes impromptu discussions on economic and trade topics by six speakers from different countries and backgrounds,as well as answers to some questions raised by netizens.This report is divided into four parts: task description,task process,case study and practice summary.Case study is the core content of this report.It mainly analyzes and summarizes the phenomenon of self-repair in impromptu speech,and proposes and summarizes targeted interpreting strategies on this basis.According to Al-Harahsheh’s classification criteria,interpreters classified the self-repair phenomena in this corpus into the following categories: replacement,abort and restart,hesitation,repetition.In view of the above self-correction,interpreters adopt some interpreting strategies,such as information reorganization,provincial interpretation and additional interpretation.By analyzing and sorting out cases,this practice report provides methods to deal with the phenomenon of self-repair in impromptu speeches,which is helpful to improve the fluency and accuracy of the target language.It is hoped that it will be helpful to interpreters in practice.
