This report is written around the translation practice of the academic work The Handbook of Global Online Journalism(Chapters 6 and 7).The problems in translation practice will be analyzed and their solutions will be provided in this report. The Handbook of Global Online Journalism,an academic work as well as a symposium collecting the research findings of many scholars on the topic of network news, allows the scholars to express their views freely. At the same time, the sixth to seventh chapters of the text focus on the politics. The author expresses clear attitudes through the neutral narrations,so the reproduction of author’s attitude for the target language reader becomes priority. Therefore, this report attaches importance to the approaches to find author’s attitude from the appearance and reproduce it.Based on the framework of the appraisal theory of the systemic functional linguistics, the writer classifies those attitude resources and reproduces them mainly through the skills of extension, transformation, addition and division.Combined with specific cases, the writer analyzes the techniques for the reproduction, hoping to provide reference for the translation of relevant texts.
