Village autonomy is a grassroots social management system of self-management,self-education and self-development in rural areas below the county level since the Wei and Jin Dynasties in ancient China.In areas inhabited by ethnic minorities,due to special historical reasons,the characteristics of this grassroots governance system are particularly obvious.In this paper,the inscriptions in the Wujiang River Basin during the Ming and Qing Dynasties are taken as the research object,trying to dig out the relevant contents in line with the village autonomy.This paper is divided into six parts.The first part elaborates the causes of village autonomy,and analyzes the needs of village self-management and self-service from the special geographical location of the village.The second part is the content of village autonomy,mainly from three aspects of politics,economy and culture were analyzed.The third part summarizes the characteristics of village autonomy.The fourth part is the evaluation of village autonomy,village autonomy is not only conducive to maintaining the unity of the country and the stability of ethnic areas,but also promote the economic development of ethnic areas,but its autocratic color is strong,hindering the further development of democratic politics.The fifth part is the connection and difference between village autonomy and modern and contemporary villager autonomy.Finally,through the study of village autonomy,the paper puts forward some suggestions on the better implementation of village autonomy in modern times.
