It is of great significance for human survival to explore the gender differences in individual emotional information processing.Facial and body are important visual emotional cues. However, the body plays a more important role than the face in the development of individual adaptability, and the body expression is better than the facial expression in expressing threat information.Studies have shown that there are gender differences in the processing of facial emotion information under the non-attentional condition, but whether there are gender differences in the processing of physical emotion under the non-attentional condition needs to be systematically studied. Therefore,in this study, oddball paradigm and event-related potential(ERP)technology were used to investigate whether there are gender differences in the processing of body expressions changes under non-attentional conditions and the processing characteristics of male and female respectively, using visual mismatched negative wave(v MMN)as an indicator. In the first study, gender differences in the automated processing of threatening body expressions were explored, and the corresponding v MMN activity was induced by fear and anger bias stimulation, and the gender differences of v MMN activity in different time Windows were compared. The results showed that under the fear-neutral condition, the v MMN activity induced by the fear bias stimulus was gender different between 140 and 260 ms after the stimulus was presented. The v MMN activity of women was stronger than that of men, indicating that women were more sensitive to fear than men.The results of this experiment preliminarily proved that there are gender differences in the processing of fear body change information.Besides,in this study two experiments, both in a particular time, appeared on the ingredient or emotional side effects,in line with previous studies, showed that partial lateralization is not only appeared under the condition of not pay attention to the faces of the emotional processing process, also appeared in the unattended body emotional processing, but there is also a certain specificity and men and women. The results of this study further indicate that the information processing of somatic changes in the non-attentional condition has gender differences and appears in a specific stage. This study provides an idea for further research on the processing of somatic expressions under non-attentional conditions, and advances the research on the characteristics of non-clinical emotional processing in men and women, and provides a further theoretical basis for the sex-specific clinical emotional disorders. In the second study, gender differences in the processing of somatic emotions(happiness, sadness, and neutral)other than threatening emotions were explored.Using happy, sad, and neutral body expressions as bias stimuli, this paper explores whether there are gender differences in individual processing. The results showed that the main effect of gender was significant only for the P1 component of ERPs induced by bias stimulation, and the amplitude of P1 in females was greater than that in males. At this stage, the main effect of gender was significant for v MMN.In the early(100-150ms),middle(230-280ms),and later(280-350ms)stages,v MMN activity was the weakest. The P1 amplitude and v MMN activity advantage of females indicate that females are more susceptible to the change of emotional information than males, while the v MMN activity caused by sadness bias stimulus is the weakest, which indicates the difference between physical expression and facial expression in emotional processing, that is,the effect of physical expression to express sadness is weak, thus the individual’s perception activity is relatively weak. The results of this study further suggest that when somatic information changes occur, there are differences in the automated processing of men and women, and this occurs at an early stage. The results of this study indicate that there are gender differences in the information processing of somatic changes under the non-attentional condition, and it appears at different stages for different emotional stimuli. This study provides an idea for further research on the processing of body expressions under non-attentional conditions, advances the research on the characteristics of male and female emotional processing, and further provides a theoretical basis for the sex-specific clinical emotional disorders.
