Han Feizi,as a comprehensive book of pre-Qin scholars,especially the Legalist School,has been widely concerned and studied by researchers for its narrative text used to clarify the truth.From the perspective of narratology,this paper takes the stories in Han Feizi as the object and uses the method of text analysis to probe into the overall narrative of Han Feizi,which consists of five chapters.In chapter one,the content and source of the narrative text of Han Feizi.This chapter divides the narrative text into ancient legends.Historical stories and folk stories are mainly historical stories,and the reasons for the proportion of this story are analyzed.Through reading other classics,the sources of narrative texts can be divided into three kinds: First is to inherit the original classics,including direct inheritance and remaking and tailoring;Second,refer to the prevailing public materials at that time;The third is the creation of Han Feizi,which refers to Han Fei’s re-creation based on his predecessors’ works.In chapter two,the characteristics of the narrative text of "Han Feizi".The narrative text has the characteristics of variability and typification.The variability is manifested in different versions for the same story and different protagonists for the same plot;typification refers to the third-person objective narrative and commentary narrative.In chapter three,the historical narrative of Han Feizi.This chapter first analyzes the historical narrative language.The narrative language is not only the carrier of the story,but also has a certain function: to dramatize the narrative,highlight the character image,and insert new narrative text.Secondly,it discusses the artistic characteristics of historical narration.The rich and specific scene description and exquisite speech skills make its narration close to the novelization.In the end,the value and influence of historical narration are summarized.As a master of the various figures in the late Warring States Period,Han Feizi’s historical narration not only reflects the historical thoughts of Han Fei,but also shows the narrative ability of the various figures in the pre-Qin Period.While summarizing the experience,it also brings some useful experience for later narrative works.In chapter four,Han Feizi’s Folk Narration.The folk narrative takes plain daily life as the material and achieves a humorous narrative effect.The dialogue of characters in folk stories is dramatic,vivid and can be active on the scene.Readers can often be drawn into the plot performance.Therefore,the characters have more distinctive personalities,which can be roughly classified as wise or foolish.Folk stories originate from the people,and the folk tales textualized by Han Fei have become a new source of folk narration,feeding back folk literature and even official literature.The folk narration of Han Feizi has profound cultural significance.In Chapter five,Han Feizi narrative overall analysis.The narrative purpose of Han Feizi is to explain his theory and viewpoint of Legalism.The narrative perspective is based on the omniscience perspective,supplemented by the limited perspective.The narration of Han Feizi presents a pyramid-like text structure externally,while internally it presents a dual structure thinking mode centered on the rule of the monarch.The narrative form is basically presented in the form of dialogue.In the narrative process,the dialogue between characters can not only promote the plot,but also increase the narrative capacity through imagination and allusion.
