The Study On Modern Chinese Characters Of The Radical Shi(矢部),Ge(戈部) Of The Advanced Chinese Dictionary(《汉语大字典》)

The Advanced Chinese Dictionary is a large-scale Chinese dictionary that explains the Chinese characters,sounds and meanings.Its compilation principle is to pay attention to sources,and to absorb both ancient and modern knowledge,so as to accurately and historically reflect the development of Chinese characters,sounds and meanings as much as possible.With accurate definitions,complete meanings and abundant examples,it reflects the origin and evolution of Chinese characters in a comprehensive and historical way.In this paper,the modern Chinese characters collected of the second edition of the Advanced Chinese Dictionary are taken as the target,and the modern Chinese characters of the Radical shi(矢部),ge(戈部)are taken as the research object.The main content of this paper is to examine and explain the form,sound,meaning and origin of modern Chinese characters in these two radicals(shi(矢部),ge(戈部)),such as the examination and explanation of some Chinese characters whose sound and meaning are not clear,to clarify the relationship between the regular and folk characters,and to supply the meaning of the Chinese characters not included in the Advanced Chinese Dictionary.At the same time,some mistakes in the Advanced Chinese Dictionary should be corrected,such as the wrong use of punctuation marks and the wrong quotation.This paper is divided into three parts.The first part makes an introduction to the book of"The Advanced Chinese Dictionary",the research objects,the research situation of modern Chinese characters and the research significance.The second part examines and explains the Chinese characters of the Radical shi(矢部),ge(戈部),and corrects some mistakes in the Advanced Chinese Dictionary.The third part summarize the types of modern Chinese characters of the Radical shi(矢部),ge(戈部).
