| Displacement verbs are closely related to our lives and belong to common verbs. It is easier for us to grasp the development and change rules of spatial displacement verbs by studying them. However,we have not found a comparative study of the displacement verbs in Shuijingzhu in the middle ancient Chinese period and Mengxibitan in the modern Chinese period, which is also one of the necessities for us to do this research. As the two books are hundreds of years apart and belong to different historical stages of language, the development of their displacement verbs has both similarities and differences. This paper takes 152 displacement verbs in Shuijingzhu and 214 displacement verbs in Mengxibitan as the research objects.By using the methods of quantitative statistics, the combination of synchronic description and diachronic investigation, this paper makes a systematic and multi-level comparative analysis of the middle moving words in the two books from the perspectives of semantic classification, polysemy and grammatical function,in order to present the general situation of displacement verbs in different periods, and to provide some information and reference for the comparative study of displacement verbs. The verb of displacement is defined: the verb that contains the core semantic feature of displacement and can change the position of people or objects is a displacement verb.In addition, the article is divided into four chapters,in addition to the introduction and conclusion. This paper classifies the middle moving words into seven categories, that is,coming and going,up and down,in and out, passing through, greeting and seeing off, flying and reaching.Considering the structure of the text, the seven types of moving words are divided into two chapters for analysis and comparison. In the first chapter, the author makes a detailed analysis of the displacement verbs of "Lai" and "Qu",and further subdivides them into "Lai" meaning,"Qu" meaning,"Lai and Qu" meaning,"Shang" meaning,"Xia" meaning,"Shang Xia" meaning,"out" meaning,"in" meaning and "in and out" in the two books. In addition, from the aspects of member changes, frequency of occurrence and semantic changes, this paper uses table statistics to compare the change differences of the mobile words in Mengxibitan compared with Shuijingzhu. In the second chapter, the moving words of passing category, greeting class, flying class and reaching class in the two books are investigated. In addition to passing class and reaching class, they are subdivided into "Ying" meaning,"sending" meaning,"welcoming and seeing off" meaning,"flying" meaning,"walking" meaning and "flowing" meaning respectively, and their detailed analysis is carried out.In the same way, from the aspects of member changes, frequency of occurrence and semantic changes, this paper uses table statistics to compare the change differences of the position moving words in Mengxibitan and Shuijingzhu. In the third chapter, eight polysemy verbs of displacement in the two books are studied. They are: run,go,enter, pass, and, chase, line and go.This paper makes a detailed analysis of the polysemy of several groups of displacement verbs from the aspects of cognitive semantics and image schema.Based on the analysis of examples, this paper discusses the strategies to distinguish the polysemy from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. The fourth chapter investigates the grammatical functions of the displacement verbs in the two books, respectively from the syntactic function, predicate collocation and entering the special sentence pattern and other aspects of the description and comparative analysis, using the table data to compare the grammatical function of the position moving words in Mengxibitan and Shuijingzhu. |
