Pipa Concerto Mulan is a pipa concerto created by composer Gu Guanren in 1979,which is the product of the combination and innovation of Chinese national musical instruments and western musical genres.It has great research value in the aspects of creative characteristics,music structure,music style,performance techniques and emotional expression.This thesis explores Mulan from three dimensions: overview of works,music analysis and performance analysis.The first chapter is an overview of Mulan,which summarizes the origin and connotation of his works from three aspects: author,creative background and musical image.The first section starts from Mulan himself and summarizes the creative background.The second section mainly explores the musical image and musical character that Mulan wants to express.The second chapter is the analysis of Mulan’s music.The first section analyzes the creative characteristics from the musical form structure,and the second section analyzes its musical structure and the title passage.The third section analyzes its musical style.The third chapter mainly analyzes Mulan’s playing techniques,emotional expression.
