The Study Of Confucian Political Ethics In The Book Of Songs

The Book of Songs is one of the classics of Confucianism,which contains a lot of political and ethical thoughts such as "match heaven with virtue","rule the country with virtue","match orders with virtue" and "be wise and prudent in punishing".The study of political ethics in The Book of Songs has both theoretical and practical significance.From the perspective of theoretical significance,the study of political ethics in The Book of Songs can sort out the source of Confucian political ethics and further understand the origin of Confucian political ethics.From the perspective of practical significance,The Book of Songs has profound social influence and can be used for reference in the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.It is helpful to carry on the political ethics thought of "governing with morality","combining morality with law" and "cultivating one’s morality and morality".This paper is divided into five parts:The first chapter introduces the main achievements in the study of political ethics in the Book of Songs at home and abroad.It reveals the theoretical and practical significance of this thesis.Of "The Book of Songs",the second chapter explores the political ethics thought of historical conditions,reveals the agricultural farming civilization as the basic production and way of life,under the historical background of the well-field system,economic system,the level of patriarchal clan system of enfeoffment and political system and the patriarchal family system is the Book of Songs and masculine political ethics thought of the main reasons.Chapter three analyzes the explanation of the sources of political power in the Book of Songs.The Book of Songs inherits the theory of "the divine power of Kings",which was dominant before the western Zhou Dynasty.At the same time,the idea of "matching heaven with virtue" was used to reform the theory of "divine right of Kings".Chapter four reveals the thought of "rule by virtue" in the Book of Songs.The thought of moral governance in the Book of Songs is mainly manifested in four aspects.First,in order to realize the goal of "moral cultivation" and "to match orders",it advocates the cultivation of one’s loyalty,filial piety of the father,virtuous wife,respect of brothers and friends,and faithfulness of friends.Secondly,we should advocate the idea of putting people first and protecting people with respect and virtue.Thirdly,advocate the principle of morality,penalization and punishment;Fourth,the political ideal that the rule of virtue should realize is the unity of man and nature.Chapter five reveals the historical status and realistic value of the political and ethical thoughts in the Book of Songs.The Book of Songs is an important source of Confucian political ethics and plays a very important role in the long-term stability of China’s feudal society.The limitations of political ethics in the Book of Songs are mainly manifested as political ethics and moral centralism.Nevertheless,the political and ethical thought in the Book of Songs still retains its contemporary significance.It is of great significance to implement the core socialist values and the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era by critically inheriting the "match heaven with virtue" and the people-centered thought and combining the rule of virtue with the rule of law in the Book of Songs.
