A Study On Narrative Structure And Narrative Intervention In Xinxu

Xinxu was selected and arranged by Liu Xiang in the Western Han Dynasty through extensive collection of the existing literature,historical materials and folklore.It is a narrative work with certain novel elements and has the possibility and model of narrative research.Through the theoretical analysis and combing of the narrative art of Liu Xiang’s Xinxu,this paper reveals the characteristics and achievements of the narrative art of the historical story collection Xinxu.The first part analyzes the narrative formation and narrative characteristics of Xinxu from the perspective of its specific cultural context.The writing of Xinxu has an impact on its narrative.From the perspective of the relationship between writing and narrative,the special writing of Xinxu shows the characteristics of integration and intertextuality in narrative.Based on the existing Xinxu,the source of the materials in the new preface is presented in the form of table,and then the writing methods of the materials in the new preface are divided into actual record and restatement,and the specific analysis is carried out in combination with the preface text.The second part discusses the narrative structure of Xinxu.Structure is the skeleton of the work,the internal relationship and internal organization of the work.Any work has its particular structure.This part is mainly divided into the overall structure and internal structure and specific text structure of the discussion.Its overall structure is closely related to the presentation of the theme of the work,from which we can see the deep ideological consciousness of the creative subject.First of all,it deals with the overall spatialized thematic juxtaposition narrative structure and its deep implication,and then explores the structure among the stories in Xinxu and the characteristics of the specific stories.The internal structure is mainly divided into three types of structure: parallel,repeated and contrast.As far as the structure features of the chapters are concerned,they mainly include three kinds: one is to arrange the plot logically with the development of the events themselves,which has a relatively complete story structure;The first is a dialogue structure that starts with a question and answer and basically has no plot development.This kind of structure mostly begins with “...Ask to...” At the beginning of the sentence pattern.In addition,Xinxu also has some biographical narrative structures directly centered on the characters.Different structural features enable Xinxu to express Liu Xiang’s ideas in different ways.The unique narrative structure of Xinxu makes the text orderly and open at the same time.The third part discusses the narrative intervention in Xinxu.According to the degree of the narrator’s involvement in the text,narrative intervention can be divided into explicit intervention and implicit intervention.A large number of narrative interventions are used in Xinxu to express the narrative will.The explicit narrative interventions are mainly reflected in the “gentleman’s remarks” at the end of the story,the “poem as evidence” and the direct critical interventions in the story.Recessive narrative intervention is mostly realized through the selection of narrative materials and the arrangement of characters’ discourse.Through these different forms of narrative intervention,it reflects the narrator’s strong subject consciousness.
