Logical Relation Reorganization In Chinese Translation Of Long Sentences Of English Economic Text

Under the background of economic globalization,international exchanges are becoming more and more frequent,and the economic ties of various countries are getting closer and closer.With the increasing pace of China’s reform and opening up and the construction and development of the Belt and Road Initiative,China’s economic development is good,and its economic and trade cooperation with the world is also deepening.In order to maintain the sustainable economic development of our country,we need to learn from and learn from the useful experience of developed countries.The text selected in this translation practice is the second chapter of A Financial System that Creats Economic Opportunity: Nonbank Financials,Fintech,and Innovation.The text is the fourth in a series of reports of the US Treasury in response to Executive order 13772(“Core principles of Government Financial Supervision”).The full text consists of five chapters,with a report on embracing digitization,data and technology,adjusting the regulatory framework,updating regulations for specific activities,and enabling a strategic environment.According to the text features of this economic text,this translation practice mainly focuses on the translation of long sentences.Through the revision and analysis of the initial translation stage,the translation problems and difficulties of long sentences are defined as unclear logical relations,numerous modifiers and complex structures.In view of the defined translation problem,this paper attempts to adopt logical relation reorganization as a translation strategy.In order to solve the problem of unclear logical relations,semantic supplementary logic reorganization,sentence pattern fusion logic reorganization and lexical cohesion logic reorganization are adopted respectively;for the problems of numerous modifiers,sequential reverse logic reorganization,master-slave translation logic reorganization and part-of-speech transformation logic reorganization are adopted respectively as solutions;and for the problems of complex structures,the logical reorganization of split sentence,the logical reorganization of center of gravity and the logical reorganization of comprehensive translation are adopted as solutions respectively.The summary of translation practice and case study show that the selected logical relation reorganization translation strategies have a certain effect on the translation of long sentences of this kind of text,the translation quality has been significantly improved,and the translation ability has been improved to a certain extent,which has a certain practical value.
