Translation Practice Report

Popular science book is a kind of practical text with professional knowledge,and its language is simple and easy to understand.Its purpose is to popularize scientific knowledge and spread scientific spirit to the public.In the translation of popular science works,how to ensure its preciseness and popularity is a major difficulty.This translation report,based on the E-C translation project of the popular science book How It Works,is intended to review the translation process with a focus on the lexical and the syntactic difficulties encountered in the process of translation by means of case study.It is hoped to explore the methods of solving problems,to ensure the accuracy,smoothness and fluency of the translation.It is also expected to provide reference for similar popular science book translation in the future upon the completion of the translation task and achievement of the translation purpose.
