The progress of modern technology and its overall achievements provide conditions and possibilities for "technological utopia".Jonas reveals the crisis under the "hope" of Utopia and explores the ethical path to contend with it.The key lies in the establishment of a metaphysical view of responsibility that transcends human interests.Combined with Jonas thought as a whole,it is necessary to further clarify the reflection and overcoming of "technological utopia" and examine the problems of technology and human existence in the context of modernity.Firstly,by reflecting on the three conditions of "technological utopia",namely, the concept of modern progress, the secularized eschatology, and the dynamic view of teleology, the theoretical framework and characteristics of "technological utopia" are characterized, and then the internal nihilism is revealed and criticized.Secondly,Jonas communicates "being" and "ought to be" through metaphysical argument, endows noumenalization of nature with purpose and value, and introduces "the imperative of responsibility" into ethics in the age of technology.Furthermore,Jonas not only expanded the scope of time and space of ethics, but also established "good-in-itself" at the ontological, endowed "the image of man" with a new connotation of "responsible subject" on the basis of subjectivity reflection, and made a new exploration to overcome "anthropocentrism".Finally,it is necessary to clarify the inadequacy and internal tension of Jonas’ liability theory and respond to some representative critics based on Jonas’ standpoint. In the context of modernity,we should continue to reflect on "technological utopia",and ask how it is possible to make a "daring leap" from technological survival to artistic survival,so as to realize the responsibility of "thinking" to "being" based on Jonas and beyond Jonas. |
