The Study Of Shenyang Riji By Xuan Ruohai

The Shenyang Riji was written by Xuan Ruohai,a Korean official of the Lee Korean,who was at the command of King Renzu of Korea in the third year of Chongzhen(1630).After Xuan’s diplomatic mission to the Later Jin(Qing Dynasty),he completed this book.The book mainly recorded Xuan’s negotiation between him and the King of the Later Jin and his officicials in Shenyang---the capital of the Later Jin---which lasted more than a month,from April 3rd they left the Korean capital to May 16 th they started back to it in the third year of Chongzhen.In the process of the diplomatic mission,the negotiation between the Korean and the Later Jin mainly focused on the food issue of Pidao,the Sadae issue of the Korean,the problem of the hair-shavener return and the problem of the trade exchanges.As Xuan Ruohai’s diplomatic mission happened in the interweaven period of the Ming and Qing Dynasties,the book includes Korea,Pidao,the Later Jin,the Ming Dynasty and other sides,which has high historical value.In addition,because this book is about the Korean mission in China,it provides another perspective to study the history of the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty.In order to further explore the value of this book,the author has done research on this book.The content of this paper could be divided into the following parts.The first part is the research of Xuan Ruohai,the author of The Shenyang Riji.In line with the principle of knowing people and discussing the world,it is necessary to have a certain understanding of the author himself in order to better study The Shenyang Riji.Xuan Ruohai is one of the Five Loyalty of Xuan’s family in Baocheng.Through the investigation of Xuan’s family and his own related deeds,it helps better understand the loyalty to the king and the patriotic spirit reflected in The Shenyang Riji.The second part is about the edition,domestic description,collection and publication of The Shenyang Riji.According to the sequence of events,the structure of The Shenyang Riji can be divided into three parts---before the mission,during the mission and after returning to China.Xuan Ruohai’s Shenyang Riji was once collected by Inaba Iwakichi.Inaba Iwakichi presented to it to Jin Yufu who had a close relationship with him.After Jin Yufu included it in The Liaohai Series in the 1930 s,the subsequent domestic publication of this book is often a photocopy of The Liaohai series.The domestic description of The Shenyang Riji by Xuan Ruohai is often related to Jin Yufu.The third part is punctuation and annotation of The Shenyang Riji.This paper makes correct punctuation and detailed notes through the investigation of the related names and allusions in the original of The Shenyang Riji.The fourth part is about the related content textual research and explanation of The Shenyang Riji.Xuan Ruohai’s diplomatic mission was at the time of the Ming and Qing Dynasties,and this dairy is a strong narrative.This paper would present a restoration and revivification of the background of this book’s diplomatic mission,the content of negotiation,and the related events after Xuan returning to China.
