| Edda is a record and collection of oral literary works spread in the ancient Nordic region,in which the Nordic mythology is relatively intact saved.Norse mythology,like mythology in other parts of the world,details the genealogy of the gods and tells the story of how the world came to be and how mankind came to be.Compared with the mythological systems of ancient Egypt,ancient India,ancient Babylon and ancient Greece,the Nordic mythology were formed at the latest but it had a unique life philosophy,a strong sense of tragedy and a permanent vitality,all of which are based on the unique geographical environment and cultural features of Scandinavia.In other words,it is the unique national and regional characteristics of Northern Europe that give birth to the unique Nordic mythology.This paper mainly analyzes the internal relationship between the myth of Edda and the nationality and regionality of ancient Nordic countries,and then explores the practical reasons for the formation of the unique spiritual core of Nordic myths.This paper will discuss from the following four aspects:The first part analyzes the Nordic national spiritual characteristics reflected in the Nordic mythological world in Edda.The Norse mythological world is vast,but its geographical spatial arrangement is not random.This part first classifies the geographical space of mythology.According to the inherent characteristics of the geographical environment,this paper tries to clarify the internal logic of the mythological geographical space distribution and the characteristics of the Nordic national spirit that it reflects.The second part explores the characteristics of the ancient Nordic political civilization reflected in Edda.The research perspective in this part is from the vast myth space to the specific place--hall.The hall politics is the core of the power structure in medieval northern Europe.The power system of medieval northern Europe society reflected in it can be explored by studying "hall" in Nordic mythology.The third part discusses the Christian factors in the myth of Edda and its influence on the belief system of ancient Northern Europe.Edda finished in a period of confrontation between the primitive beliefs of Northern Europe and the Christian beliefs of the South.Under the collision of beliefs,the mythological world depicted by the myth would inevitably be influenced by Christianity.This part discusses the influence of Christianity on the Nordic society and belief system from the metaphor of Christianity in mythology.The fourth part studies the change of the Nordic people’s moral concept in the Viking Age reflected by the myth of Edda.In the Viking Age,the Nordic people went through a transition from clan society to feudal society.With the development of the social formation,the moral concept of the Nordic people gradually changed,and this change is also shown in the myth of Edda. |
