Media Memory Construction Of The Northeast Anti-Japanese War In People’s Daily(1946-2020)

The Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army is the core force of the armed resistance against Japanese aggression.It not only made an indelible historical contribution to the victory of the national war of resistance,but also to the victory of the world anti-Fascist War.Its struggle course and spirit have important historical values for inspiring national cohesion and forming national identity.History represents the past,while memory is related to current phenomena.With the development of media memory research in recent years,news media-centered memory research has become a new research hotspot.Based on media memory theory,this paper adopts content analysis method and text analysis method to study the media memory construction of the Northeast Anti-Japanese War in People’s Daily from 1946 to 2020.The purpose of this paper is to clearly and concretely understand the memory picture of the official media’s "how to remember" and "who is remembering",and to explore the characteristics and influencing factors of the "People’s Daily" in constructing the memory of the Northeast Anti-Confederacy,including five chapters.The first chapter begins with the importance of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army to the country and the nation,evaluates and analyzes the current research status of media memory,the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army and People’s Daily in related fields,and puts forward the guidance and reference significance of this research and explains the significance of this research.The second chapter includes descriptions of research objects,research questions,research methods and reliability.The third chapter is the research findings,including news text,diachronic presentation,discourse characteristics,memory frame and construction factors.The fourth chapter is the analysis of the deficiencies and strategies of the construction of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army.The chapter five is the conclusion,which further summarizes and condenses the overall content,and puts forward the current limitations and future prospects of this study.Through the analysis,it is found that the news text exhibits the following characteristics:First,it shows the memory pattern of both diversity and stereo in the genre.Second,it shows the memory frame of important discourse space and international elements on the layout.Third,in terms of length,it shows the contents of memory that are both thorough and complete and detailed.Fourthly,in the picture application,it shows the permanent fixed scene to realize the positioning of memory narrative.Fifthly,in the news source,it shows the joint efforts of the official media and the memory discourse supplemented by the direct stakeholders of the event.From the analysis of year,month and theme duration,it can be seen that the memory of the Northeast Anti-Japanese Alliance presents an obvious trend of "latent,forgotten and prominent" and a periodic report focusing on "the whole ten years".The awakening of Anti-Union memory was concentrated in February,July,August and September,reflecting the triggering of major events.The extension of the theme shows that memory is a kind of "selectively constructed" historical writing based on the needs of real rights and interests.In terms of the characteristics of memory discourse,it shows the memory image of continuous party and government discourse,prominent international discourse,and long-lasting hero discourse.In the frame of memory,People’s Daily constructs the memory of Anti-Japanese Union,including three dimensions: memorial site,memorial moment and memorial subject.At the same time,the construction of media memory is influenced by three factors: social situation,media events and media attributes.Based on the above data and text analysis,it is found that the People’s Daily finally constructed the media memory dominated by "heroes","political parties" and "ordinary people".In fact,the revival of the memory of the Northeast Anti-Japanese United is the result of the participation and construction of official power based on the perception of the need of the real society.To a certain extent,it also reveals the limitations of the imbalance of the memory framework in the process of memory construction that it is difficult to offset the forgetting,the lack of repetition of memory content and the inadequacy narration of memory group narration.
