Drama teaching method refers to the teaching method which integrates drama elements into teaching and constructs teaching into drama process in order to improve skills and personal growth education.The rational application of this teaching method is of great significance to the liberation and development of students’ individual life,and can also improve the students’ comprehensive quality,which is the reform and enrichment of English teaching methods in primary schools.Therefore,to understand the current situation of drama teaching method in primary school English teaching and to sum up the reasons and to put forward strategies can provide theoretical and practical value for English teaching.This paper combs the relevant literature theory from the angle of pedagogy,introduces the development course and research situation of drama teaching method in theory and practice at home and abroad,and defines the relevant concepts of drama teaching method.Based on the example of Chongqing C Primary School,this paper makes a questionnaire survey on the use,effect evaluation and influencing factors of drama teaching method.At the same time,the interview method is used to select the questions related to the purpose of this study,and the English teachers in this school are interviewed and investigated.In order to get more information about the application of drama teaching method,I chooses the fifth grade and third class of Chongqing C Primary School as a case study,and uses drama teaching method in the actual classroom to observe the students’ true reflection.Through the investigation,it is found that the problems of drama teaching method in primary school English teaching are as follows:the number of students’ participation is not high;the application form is relatively single,the forms of sketch,sitcom,improvisation and so on have not been paid attention to by teachers;the classroom links are not well regulated and have little effect on the improvement of students’ scores.There are many reasons for the problems in the application of drama teaching method in primary school English teaching,which are mainly summarized as the lack of experience for reference,the lack of teachers’ related literacy and the defects of drama teaching method itself.Finally,I put forward some suggestions,such as strengthening the communication and cooperation between teachers,improving teachers’ comprehensive quality and combining with other teaching methods.As an educational drama teaching mode,drama teaching method has high practical value in introducing drama activities into the classroom.It is hoped that through this study,more educational researchers and workers will realize the great role of this drama teaching model for teachers,students and teaching.It is also hoped that this study can provide some reference and inspiration for the application of drama teaching method in primary school English classroom. |
