Avant-garde literature is a special existence in modern and contemporary literature history.Even under the prevailing situation of network literature,we sill have some reasons and obligations to review this period of history.As one of the " three pioneer carriages",Gefei is a unique and striking presence among them.Since he published his first work " Remembrance of Mr.Wu You " in 1986,Gefei has been adhered to the " meaning of form " in his creation,questioned the reality of individual existence with a rebellious attitude.After the 1990 s,Gefei began to return to daily life,described people’s life in his works to ask the spiritual essence of individual existence.After ten years of silence,Gefei created the " Jiangnan Trilogy " at the beginning of the 21 st century,which marked the completion of the transformation of Gefei’s creation.While inheriting the traditional Chinese culture,Gefei gradually found her own way to writing.This article attempts to make a comprehensive interpretation and analysis of the change of Gefei’s novel creation theme and creation concept,and further explore the historical value and significance of the transformation of avant-garde literature since the 21 st century.At present,most of the researches on Gefei’s works focus on the transformation research,which involves a narrow scope and lack certain integrity and comprehensiveness.Therefore,bases on the research purpose of this article,this article will start from Gefei’s more than 30 years of novel creation and propose to divide the Geifei’s novel creation into three periods,take the 1980 s,1990s and 21 st century as the time nodes respectively,divide Gefei’s novel creation into three stages:the early,the middle and the late time.On the basis of combining the background and applying the relevant theoretical knowledge of narratology and philosophy,this article will make a deep analyse and research on the creation theme and concept of Gefei’s novels,in order to reveal the ideological connotation and cultural consciousness behind the novel creation.This article is divided into three chapters.The first chapter is the novel creation in " the avant-garde period".It analyzes " the meaning of form" in the early period of Geifei’s novel creation,and points out that Gefei questioned the reality of individual existence from two aspects of memory and history through the narrative techniques of circulation and vacancy in this period.The second chapter is the novel creation in " the silent period ",which analyses the writing tendency of daily life in the middle period of Gefei’s novel creation.It is believed that Gefei’s creation in this period reflects the questioning of human existence,so as to explore the spiritual essence of individual existence and try to find a way to resist spiritual crisis.The third chapter is the novel creation in "the return period" starts with the creation of " Jiangnan Trilogy ",points out that Gefei in this period creation return to the traditional Chinese culture.By connecting the history with the present life,Gefei wants to create an individual spiritual home with the modern sense in the novel.Gefei’s later novel creations reflect his sense of responsibility and height of thinking as an intellectual.In conclusion,this article puts Gefei’s novel creation in the process of Chinese modern and contemporary literary history to investigate,and points out the inheritance and profundity of his novel creation.By comparing Gefei’s works with those of other avant-garde novelists,this article points out the continuity and depth of his novel creation,and than concludes the social value and historical significance of Gefei’s novel creation.At last,this article generalizes and summarizes the contribution of Gefei’s novel creation from more comprehensive and impartial perspective.
