Perception is an extremely important skill for an artist.Perception participates in the whole process of an artist’s creation, whether in the conception stage of the source of inspiration,or in the creation stage of drawing and painting,it plays an imperceptible role in the inner spiritual world of the artist.Taking the concept of "perception" as a starting point, this paper elaborates on the relationship between perception and human living state, the influence of perception on picture form and the problem of perception on creative impulse, and finally discusses the possibility of the combination of the author’s artistic practice and perception.First of all,the first chapter analyzes the factors influencing artists’ perception from the perspectives of spiritual emotion and science and technology in the social background.Secondly,in the second chapter, the abstract performance of concrete things and the performance of temporality in the picture are expounded, and the role of perception is discussed. The third chapter discusses how perception plays a role in the artist from the perspective of the artist’s creative motivation and imagination space. Finally, taking the author’s art practice as an example,I integrate my own perception of contemporary living state into the creation, and discuss the possibility of contemporary art practice in order to explore the direction of future art practice.
