Movies have a history of more than one hundred years in China.From the initial development of "shadow dramas" to the present,both content and technology have undergone comprehensive innovations.The Chinese film academia divides Chinese film directors into six generations.The group of "sixth generation" directors and their works have always attracted attention and scholars have also carried out research on the themes,aesthetics,narration and other aspects of their works.The particularity of the "sixth generation" directors in the history of Chinese film is undoubtedly and based on previous studies,this article focuses on the dramatic study of the works of this group.This article attempts to take the dramaticity of the film as the starting point,taking the Chinese "sixth generation" directors represented by Jia Zhangke and Wang Xiaoshuai as the research object,trying to explore the source and form of the drama in the "sixth generation" directors’ films from multiple angles and the historical contribution of this dramatic pursuit.First of all,from the two dimensions of world film history and Chinese film history,it discusses the origin of film and drama,the elements that film absorbs from drama,and the unique dramatic expression of film.Taking the specific film works of the "sixth generation" directors as an example,through the three forms of dramatic conflicts between man and society,man and self,and man and destiny,they illustrate their new interpretation of the drama in the film.Therefore,it concludes the significance of the "sixth generation" directors’ new understanding and creation of drama to the development of Chinese films. |
