| This paper aims at making improvements in compiling textbooks of Chinese Mandarin pronunciation for international students based on the assessment and teaching design against Chinese teaching material for foreigners-A Course for Mandarin Chinese Pronunciation in the process of educational practice,so as to increase learning efficiency of Mandarin.Among the textbooks complied for foreigners who want to learn Chinese in China,books that systematically introduce the theory of Chinese phonetics written specific to foreign students with a certain level of mastering Chinese are few and far between,which opens a door greatly for the research of this paper.This paper is divided into five parts.The first four parts are the research and analysis concerning the textbook of A Course For Mandarin Chinese Pronunciation.And chapter 5 is a teaching design of one of the selected sections of A Course for Mandarin Chinese Pronunciation.In chapter one,it’s an introduction to the thesis topic’s reasons,meanings,research object and methods,as well as a review study of textbook assessment and an analysis on Chinese pronunciation textbooks.In chapter 2,the author starts with the assessment of the curricula "A Course for Mandarin Chinese Pronunciation" based on the existing evaluation standards of the textbook,and conducts a questionnaire survey thanks to author’s teaching practice with the senior class 2students from the International Students Department of Sichuan Foreign Language University as a sample.Then an analysis has made according to of their attitudes towards the advantages and disadvantages of A Course for Mandarin Chinese Pronunciation the results of the survey,as well as quantification and further analysis.With the evaluation of Chapter 2 as the basis,chapter 3 makes an analysis of the content design,charts and graphs,words,after-class exercises and editorial quality of A Course for Mandarin Chinese Pronunciation in a comprehensive manner.Chapter 4 sets out some suggestions for the development of the textbook and curriculum by means of leaning theories of Chinese and English after problems are found in the first two chapters concerning the textbook as well as the results of the questionnaire.In the chapter five,the most representative part from the material-A Course for Mandarin Chinese Pronunciation is selected for a multi-modal instructional design.In the last part,the author makes a summary and analyzes the shortcomings of this paper as well as the directions for further research. |
