A Report On The Translation Of Health Without Borders: Epidemics In The Era Of Globalization (Chapter 5-7)

This report is based on the translation of Chapter 5 to 7 of the book Health without Borders: Epidemics in the Era of Globalization.At present,the world is suffering from the pandemic,the Covid-19,thus it’s the right time for all human beings to know what is public health and what’s related to it in the background of globalization.This book to some extent undermines the stereotype that public health is only related to environment or virus.In fact,it also matters economy and diseases.The book Health without Borders: Epidemics in the Era of Globalization gives readers a different angle to understand public health.George Steiner’s fourfold translation motion theory,this report discusses the major difficulties of translation and the specific methods of dealing with the difficulties.This report consists of six chapters.Chapter one is an introduction to the project,which includes background,significance of the project as well as structure of the report.Chapter two is an introduction to the source text,including an introduction to the author,main content and publication of the source text as well as an analysis of text type.Chapter three is theoretical basis,which is George Steiner’s fourfold translation motion theory.Chapter four is description of translation process,including preparation,difficulties and corresponding solutions.The last chapter is conclusion which contains gains from the project and problems need to be solved.
