Oriental Implications Under Postmodernism

The movie poster is the most intuitive visual propaganda carrier,which contains the core connotation of the film,reflects the creator’s style,and is also an important way of cultural communication and inheritance innovation.Wang Jiawei’s film poster design combines color,image,text and other visual elements with Oriental aesthetics,cleverly making these visual elements present harmoniously,and constructing a unique and artistic visual picture.Movie posters convey the film’s message and cultural implications quickly and accurately to our audience,so a movie poster with "Wang’s Aesthetics" also provides us with a unique set of visual symbols.It can be said that the design of Wang Jiawei’s film posters is full of the spirit of postmodernism,but also has a strong oriental traditional aesthetic atmosphere and style,which has a certain enlightenment significance to the Chinese film posters in the context of cultural globalization.To this end,this paper starts with the origin and development of film posters,expounds the development course of film posters at home and abroad,analyzes the visual characteristics of Wang Jiawei’s film poster design,focuses on the visual symbol language of Wang Jiawei’s movie posters and their contemporary art value,interprets the ideological connotations of Oriental meaning and oriental aesthetics in Wang Jiawei’s film posters,analyzes the expression of Oriental aesthetics in Wang Jiawei’s film posters,and concludes that Wang Jiawei’s film posters have enlightenment significance to Chinese film poster design.This thesis believes that Wong Kar-wai’s movie poster works have the theoretical characteristics of the integration of the traditional spirit of oriental aesthetics and current globalization,and make full use of the cultural connotation of oriental aesthetics,so that the design elements with traditional oriental artistic characteristics present new design elements in different design works.The appearance is of exemplary significance in the field of graphic design today.
