A Study Of Wang Chonggu,Governor Of Xuan-Da In Ming Dynasty

Wang Chonggu was a famous minister in the Jiajing,Longqing,and Wanli periods of the Ming Dynasty.He served as the governor of the three sides of Shaanxi,the governor of Xuanda,and the Minister of War.He had an important influence on the political affairs of the late Ming Dynasty.The documents such as "History of the Ming Dynasty" and "Shanxi Tongzhi" compiled during the Ming and Qing Dynasties either contain the biography of Wang Chonggu,or records about Wang Chonggu’s life and employment experience.The collection of Wang Chonggu’s personal writings "The Collection of Wang Dufu","The Memorial of Shaobao Jianchuan Wanggong","Wang Jianchuan Collection","Gong Yu Man Gao" and the unearthed epitaphs have provided more information and research perspectives.This paper makes a textual research on the genealogy,experience and status of marriage of Wang Chonggu family members through the use of prose collection,discussion,letters and unearthed documents.In addition,the genealogical map of Wang Chonggu family was compiled.The use of unearthed documents not only makes up for the deficiency of the handed down literature,but also provided a lot of important information for reviewing Wang Chonggu’s experience,which is about fighting against Japanese pirates,patrolling Ningxia,and strengthening border defense construction.Furthermore,the comprehensive application of the above information provided materials for the study of Wang Chonggu’s thoughts on border affairs and the background,process,and influence of the "Longqing He Yi" with Fang Fengshi,Gao Gong,Zhang Juzheng and others.The conclusion of "Longqing He Yi" maintained the peace between the Ming Dynasty and Mongolia,promoted the economic development of both sides,and promoted friendly exchanges ethnic groups.The thesis is based on the five-volume "Gong Yu Man Gao" as the research object,based on the engraved editions of Feng Weine and Li Yonglu during the Longqing period in the National Library of China,and taking Yu Xian’s "Sheng Ming Hundred Schools of Poems Post-Edition",the one-volume "The Collection of Wang Dufu" compiled as the reference version.In addition,Taking the documents of official history,local chronicles of Ming and Qing dynasties,literary works of Ming and Qing dynasties and inscriptions of the world as reference materials.In short,according to the above materials,the "Gong Yu Man Gao" has been collated and annotated.Through Wang Chonggu’s contacts with Zhang Juzheng,Gao Gong,Zhang Siwei,Yang Bo,Li Chunfang and others,we can see that Wang Chonggu has a close relationship with them,such as relatives,colleagues,friends.These relations have played an important role in such major events as "Longqing He Yi".
