A Report On Post-Editing For Machine C-E Translation Of The Quiet Children(Excerpts)

With the rapid development of computer technology,the application of machine translation has become more and more widespread.Machine translation provides a lot of convenience,but the quality of machine translation is still far from the version by professional translator,so the birth of post-editing has largely solved some problems of machine translation.This report uses the English translation of excerpts from The Quiet Children as an example,analyzes and summarizes the characteristics of this type of text.The writer analyze the typical types of errors in machine translation of the text,and summarize corresponding strategies of post-editing.This report is divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly introduces the research background,task purpose,task significance,characteristics of non-fiction literary text,and report structure.The second chapter contains the domestic and foreign studies of machine translation,post-editing and non-fiction literature.The third chapter mainly introduces the text characteristics of the materials and the selection of the machine translation platform.Chapter four analyzes the results of machine translation and summarizes errors.The fifth chapter analyzes cases and summarizes the corresponding post-editing methods according to the errors of machine translation.In the sixth Chapter,the writer sums up gains and limitations of this research.
