The paper selects "Chinese Language Living Situation Report" from 2008 to2009 as the research corpus to study the dynamic development of media neologisms from a diachronic perspective.First of all,the paper makes a dynamic investigation on the media new words in2008 and 2009.According to the data of frequency of use,media neologisms can be divided into existing words and recessive words.Secondly,it analyzes the existing words in media neologisms.The development of existent words shows the following characteristics: First,high frequency is one of the salient characteristics of existent words,which plays an important role in the development of existent words;Second,most of the social events reflected in the biennial CVs are concentrated in the field of people’s livelihood.Thirdly,according to the survey statistics,only a small part of the existing words have entered a relatively stable state.Finally,the paper analyzes the reclusive words in the media neologisms.By analyzing the distribution of frequency,media neologisms can be divided into two categories: completely receded words and incomplete receded words.According to the reasons of retreat,the complete retreat words are divided into those affected by external causes and those affected by internal causes.There are many repetition cases of incomplete recessive words,which can be classified as: single peak,double peak,intermittent and irregular wave.Each recurrence can be subdivided into different subcategories,and the development direction of each recurrence is different.
