| In senior high school teaching,English is a required course,but also a course with the development of the times.English learning motivation is one of the most important emotional factors in the process of English learning,which has an important impact on students’ English learning achievements.After the revision of the curriculum standard,the English learning motivation of senior high school students has changed accordingly.Foreign language teaching pays more attention to students’ autonomous learning and comprehensive quality.Nowadays,the research on learning motivation in the field of foreign language education in China also needs to change with the revision of curriculum standards.For senior high school students,they are divided into liberal arts students and science students.The foreign language learning motivation of liberal arts students and science students is also different.Therefore,the research on the difference of English learning motivation between liberal arts students and science students in senior high school is still insufficient It is of great research significance.On the premise of the above theory,this study takes the students of grade two of Mudanjiang No.1 Senior High School as the research objects,tries to study the differences of English learning motivation between high school liberal arts students and science students,and puts forward effective teaching methods.This study adopts questionnaire and interview to study the differences of English learning motivation between liberal arts students and science students under the background of new curriculum standard.This study mainly puts forward the following questions:(1)How about the English learning motivation of senior high school students based on the New Curriculum Standard ?(2)What are the differences in English learning motivation between arts and science students?(3)What methods have teachers adopted to stimulate students’ English learning motivation based on the New Curriculum Standard ?In this study,304 students in liberal arts and science classes and 21 teachers in Mudanjiang No.1 Senior High School in the second year of senior high school areinvestigated by questionnaire,and the data are analyzed by spss22.0 statistical software.The interview is a supplement to the questionnaire.20 students and 8English teachers were selected to participate in the interview.The results show that the overall English learning motivation of liberal arts students and science students is of medium to high intensity,in which the overall internal motivation is stronger than the external motivation.Compared with science students,liberal arts students have higher internal English learning motivation,while science students have higher external learning motivation.In terms of teaching methods,we should strengthen the stimulation of students’ internal learning motivation,pay attention to the differences between liberal arts students and science students in English learning motivation,and teach students in accordance with their aptitude. |
